Vogel was deeply honored to welcome Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado of Japan and Ambassador Shigeo Yamada to visit their organization. The visit provided a meaningful opportunity to share their mission, introduce her to the children and families they serve, and showcase the impact of their work. They were also grateful to have Vogel Board Member Irfaan Lalani join them for this special occasion.

During her time on campus, Her Imperial Highness met with our CEO, Karen Hughes, to learn more about Vogel’s programs and the challenges facing families experiencing homelessness and poverty. In the classroom, she graciously signed a copy of her children's book, Lulie the Iceberg, for Vogel, spent time teaching students the art of origami, and experienced the joy and energy of classrooms firsthand.

One of the most memorable moments of the visit was seeing the meaningful connections formed between the guests and the children. Through storytelling, creativity, and shared experiences—including a spirited rendition of “Baby Shark” performed by students—the day became a celebration of learning, culture, and the universal belief that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.

Vogel is grateful for the opportunity to welcome such distinguished guests and for the genuine interest in the well-being and future of the children they serve. Moments like these remind us that compassion, learning, and hope have the power to bring people together from across the world.
